Easy Baked Parmesan Chicken
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- Cooking spray or olive oil
Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with aluminum foil and greasing it with cooking spray or a drizzle of olive oil.
Step 2
In a shallow dish or bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
Place the egg-coated chicken breasts into the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, pressing down gently to help the breadcrumbs adhere to the chicken. Flip the chicken breasts and repeat the process to coat both sides evenly.
Step 5
Transfer the coated chicken breasts onto the prepared baking sheet. If desired, you can drizzle a little olive oil over the top of each chicken breast for added crispiness.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating turns golden brown. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F (75°C).
Step 6
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help to retain its juiciness.
Step 7
Serve the baked Parmesan chicken with your favorite side dishes like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad. Enjoy!
